Weekly crop progress reports corn planting is 45% complete nationally vs. 45% last year and 30% 5-year average.  Rains in some parts of the country slowed planting last week but the forecast looks good for rapid progress this week.  Corn emergence is at 13% this week vs 7% last year and 8% on average.

Soybean planting is just getting underway at 8% complete vs. 10% last year and 6% on average.
