SOYBEAN APHID POPULATIONS RISING

aphidsThe soybean aphid season is upon us! In the past week, we have noticed a considerable rise in aphid populations in area soybean fields.  Conditions have been good for the reproduction and survival of soybean aphids.  Now is the time to get into your bean fields and scout for this insect.

Economic threshold level to warrant an insecticide treatment is  250 aphids per plant with rising populations.

Insecticide treatments are recommended through the R5 and up until the R6 growth stage on soybeans (filled seed cavity on one pod on the uppermost 4 nodes.)
