Ag Partners hosted their annual dry down day at the Pine Island location on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Representatives from SEMA brought in a Harvest Lab to utilize NIR technology to determine moistures of corn stalks to regulate timing of chopping corn silage.

Ag Partners agronomy and nutrition consultants along with staff from Pine Island worked on preparing samples to test for moistures. The day was very well attended, 72 producers brought in stalks and enjoyed lunch while they waited for their results. A total of 155 samples were tested and concluded that corn silage harvest would be starting soon with some warmer weather.
