In this episode of “Growing Solutions with Chad”, Agronomist Chad Swanepoel talks about the effect of the wet weather and the GDUs.

Chad also discusses:
Wet weather continues to affect the area. Lots of standing water, but a quick survey doesn’t show any green snap, which is great news.

GDU numbers on crop year to date. 1235 as of today.  We are behind both last year and the 5 year average.

  • How is the current weather affecting the yield on the crop so far?
  • What is the current growth stage and when can we expect tassel?
  • How does fungicide help add yield to corn?
  • What is the benefit of fungicide application for soybeans and what is the timing?
