The 2021 crop is racing towards the finish line as 21% of the corn crop is mature which is line with history as 23% of the corn crop was rated mature last year at this time and 19% for the 5-year average.  18% of the soybean crop is dropping leaves which is the same as a year ago for this week and the 5-year average is 15%.

Corn condition scores slipped 1% to 59% good-excellent vs. 60% last week and 61% last year.  Soybean condition scores improved to 57% good-excellent vs. 56% last week and 64% last year.

National crop condition scores slid lower again this week.  However, we are nearing the time where crop conditions won’t matter as actual harvest reports will tell the actual story.

Corn conditions declined to 60% good-excellent vs. 62% last week and 64% last year.  Soybean conditions declined to 56% good-excellent vs. 57% last week and 69% last year.

Crop condition scores slipped lower this week as scores in most midwestern states dipped lower.  Wisconsin ratings have been a bright spot with both corn and soybean ratings increasing this week.  National corn conditions declined to 62% good-excellent vs. 64% last week and 69% last year.  Soybean conditions dipped to 57% good-excellent vs. 60% last week and 72% last year.

The August 8th Weekly Crop Progress and Condition report featured improving corn conditions while national soybean condition ratings were steady for the week.  Corn conditions improved to 64% good-excellent vs. 62% last week and 71% last year.  Soybeans conditions were steady at 60% good-excellent vs. 74% last year.  The big mover of the week was Illinois where both corn and soybean condition scores jumped 11% in the good-excellent categories.

National corn and soybean progress remains on a pace very similar to last year at this time.

Corn and soybean crop progress remains on a pace similar to 2020.  However, overall crop condition scores declined this week with losses in the west more than cancelling out improvement in the east.  Corn condition scores declined to 64% good-excellent vs. 65% last week and 72% last year.  Soybean condition scores dropped to 58% good-excellent vs. 60% last week and 72% last year.

Corn condition scores showed further deterioration this week slipping to 64% good/excellent vs. 65% last week and 73% last year.  This biggest score declines came in South Dakota and Minnesota where dry weather has taken its toll on the crops.

National soybean scores were steady this week at 60% good-excellent vs. 71% last year.  Once again, the largest declines were in Minnesota and South Dakota.

The May 30th Weekly Crop Progress report featured the first look at corn condition scores.  The scores reflect the national crop is off to a good start as it is rated 76% good-excellent overall which is strong even compared to last year’s start at 74% good-excellent.

Corn planting is almost done at 95% complete vs. 92% last year and 87% on average.  Corn emerged is 81% vs. 76% last year and 70% on average.

Soybean planting is 84% complete vs. 74% last year and 67% on average.  Soybeans emerged are at 62% vs. 50% last year and 42% on average.

Weekly crop progress reports that corn and soybean planting and emergence continue to make rapid progress.  Weekly condition scores have not begun reporting nationally yet.

Corn planting is almost done at 90% complete vs. 87% last year and 80% on average.  Corn emerged is 64% this week vs. 61% last year and 54% on average.

Soybean planting is moving along quickly at 75% complete this week vs. 63% last year and 54% on average.  The warmer temperatures have improved emergence at 41% this week vs. 33% last year and 25% on average.
