Job Summary:

The agronomy operations employee performs daily tasks related to our Agronomy department. Must be courteous, customer service minded, and able to work both individually and in a team setting. Truck, forklift and/or large equipment experience a plus. Training is available to individuals eager to contribute to company growth. This position has the potential for advancement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-today activities of our business including, but not limited to, blending and loading dry/liquid fertilizer/pesticide and feed/seed/pesticide warehousing.
  • Facilitate repairs and maintenance on company equipment and accurately complete all necessary records.
  • Follow strict company safety protocol procedures including, but not limited to, Confined Space Entry, Lock Out/Tag Out, Personal Protective Equipment, etc.
  • Identify and report any safety issues recognized. Fix any issues if able to safely.
  • Understand and comply with OSHA, MDA, DOT, EPA, PCA regulations, company rules, and written procedures.
  • Neatly and accurately complete and maintain written records as required by the company and/or government regulations.
  • Identifying and resolving inadequacies in processes; assist in developing ways to increase efficiency.
  • Communicate with employees throughout the company.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a valid Class D or commercial driver’s license (Class A preferred) with necessary endorsements and maintain commercial insurability
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and subsequent required drug screen.
  • Driving history shows a pattern of safe vehicle operation.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid loaders, payloaders, etc.
  • Ability to shift focus between all departments as needs dictate.
  • Ability to effectively communicate daily with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to perform needed tasks in line with the mission and image of Ag Partners.
  • High level of organization, efficiency, and the ability to adapt and prioritize; High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability for job performance.
  • Ability to adapt to the varying pace of work. During the busy season, the pace will be very fast and will require multi-tasking.
  • Self-starter; having the initiative to inquire about additional work during the off-season.
  • A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including seasonal requirements to work long hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in agronomy operations preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of the job, it is required to speak, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone; ability to sit/stand at a desk for an extended period.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels
  • Able to meet the mental and physical demands of working extended hours.
  • Repetitive heavy lifting and climbing ladders to perform tasks at an elevated or below grade locations.
  • Able to work in varying weather conditions; taking appropriate precautions for said conditions (wearing layers, sunscreen, staying hydrated, etc.)
