Job Summary:

The Energy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the department’s productivity and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and regulations. They develop processes and procedures to facilitate day-to-day operations efficiently and effectively. This list of duties is not an all-encompassing and other duties may be added with business needs. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on location.


  • Monitors departmental performance and leads energy dispatch functions. 
  • Oversee and train staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback and coaching to team members. 
  • Facilitate communications between team members.
  • Oversee department facilities, equipment, and shop maintenance functions. Manage fixed assets and inventory.
  • Part of the Energy Platform Team. Collaborates with leadership to execute sales and marketing strategy.
  • Provide product support and keep current on energy-related products, trends, issues, services, and resources.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the Energy Department is aligned with the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Assist in implementing new technologies and work with the IT department to address concerns.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, ensuring their needs are met and the department provides outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure all operations meet safety guidelines, compliance regulations, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of related operational experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent project management skills with solid time management and ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, electronic, listening, and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders. Focused on delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines, compliance regulations, and best practices related to energy operations.
  • Able to work independently and make decisions using sound judgment and common sense.
  • Able to travel to other locations and work evening and weekend hours as business dictates.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain commercial eligibility.
  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; often in a stationary position, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods; speaking and hearing; continual repetitive motions with wrists, hands, or fingers; occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms; constant ability to assess accuracy and thoroughness of work.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., using personal protective equipment (PPE). Able to work in elevated areas (above 4 feet).
