Job Summary:

This position will assist in grain operations by receiving, shipping, and handling grain. Perform general maintenance on equipment, cleaning, and other location duties. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties, and other duties may be added based on business needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs facility operations such as loading and unloading trucks, and other grain handling tasks.
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining grain quality.
  • Provides basic maintenance and monitors equipment to ensure it’s in good working order.
  • Cleans and prepares storage facilities, including grain bins, flat storage, dump pits, facility grounds, and any areas within the plant.
  • Provides excellent customer service and communicate in a professional manner.
  • May assist with purchasing grain from customers.
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment by complying with safety procedures, OSHA, MDA, EPA, PCA, and other regulatory requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Able to multi-task and work with little supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform heavy work by lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly. Must also be able to walk, carry, push, pull, twist, climb ladders, open/close valves, and shovel.
  • Must be able to work outside during all weather conditions and in dusty conditions.
  • Must be willing to work in elevated areas (4 feed and above) and climb high grain bins and grain legs. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Able to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Able to operate various machinery such as a skid loader, front-end loader, forklift, or other location-specific equipment.
  • Able to work extended hours at busy times based on business demands, including nights and weekends, as needed.
