Job Summary:

Ag Partners is a strong member-owned cooperative serving producers, communities, homeowners and businesses across Southern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. This is a full-time position based at the Goodhue location.  The Information Security Technician will report to the IT Manager and provide support directly to team members, end-users and perform other tasks assigned by the IT Manager. Responsibilities will include daily monitoring tasks, as-needed change requests, and long-term project assignments. This is an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in many different disciplines in a small IT department. Being part of a small team, the Information Security Technician will occasionally have the responsibility of covering other team members’ tasks in their absence, dependent on workloads.

Working days will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (or similar). Extended hours will be necessary during busy times and as business dictates. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day functions of IT department and end-users relating primarily to Information Security tasks:

Monitoring activities (Status, inventory, logs)
  – Network, servers, workstations, email, backups

Vulnerability assessment
  – Monitoring and patch management

Credential management
  – Additions, modifications, auditing

Server and network support
  – Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting

User education and communication
  – Policies, guidance, awareness

Documentation
  – Activities, processes, inventory

  • Identifying and resolving inadequacies in processes; assist in developing ways to increase efficiency and security.
  • Communicating with employees throughout the company
  • General job responsibilities subject to current department needs and candidate qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in an IT field.
  • Demonstrated experience or education in Information Security
  • Knowledge of networking

  • Professional communication skills (In-person, phone, written and digital)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to new tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of the job, it is required to speak, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone; ability to sit/stand at a desk for an extended period.
  • Moderate noise levels, consistent with an office setting (phones, computers, printers, conversations, etc.)
  • Light to moderate lifting is required; up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Local travel to other Ag Partners locations as needed.
  • Minimal climbing and working at heights.
