Job Summary:  

This is a full-time position based at the Lewiston location. Regular hours are 8am-5pm (or similar) during the slow season, extended hours may be necessary during peak times and as business dictates. This individual will perform maintenance and repair of various vehicles and equipment from our mobile service truck, and when not in truck will be in our shop in Lewiston, or Elgin, as service demand dictates. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties; other duties may be added as needed with business need.


  • Providing maintenance to a variety of equipment. This includes LP and Fuel Trucks, Feed Trucks, Semis- Tractors and Trailers, Agricultural Equipment, etc.
  • Promote safety in the workplace; identify and communicate workplace hazards promptly, correcting unsafe conditions or actions as able.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair basic and complex equipment malfunctions and/or failures in the shop or in the field; determining correct parts needed and ordering if necessary.
  • Operates and maintains shop equipment, communicating any needs to supervisor.
  • Effectively communicate with drivers/operators regarding status, issues, questions, and other pertinent information.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Update required documentation regarding maintenance, repairs, etc.
  • Work additional hours or in other locations/departments as business dictates.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical ability: able to perform and diagnose basic mechanical repairs and maintenance, troubleshooting; previous use of diagnostic equipment required.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with trucks (diesel and gas) and heavy agricultural equipment; operation, maintenance needs, and repairs.
  • Knowledge of chemicals, fertilizer, etc. used within the company, handling and cleaning procedures, PPE requirements, dangers of, etc.
  • Welding & fabrication as part of the maintenance and repair processes above.
  • High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and ability to accept responsibility and accountability for job performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to do what is needed to complete tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees having varying personalities, experience, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous equipment maintenance & repair experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, driving check
  • Automotive/Mechanical degree or certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate to heavy lifting (50-100lbs)
  • Work conditions may include dust, fumes, moderate to loud noise levels, uneven surfaces, various heights.
  • While performing the duties of the job, it is required to speak, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
  • While performing the duties of the job, it is required to speak, hear and listen, see, and use hands/fingers to assemble, grasp, move, and control large and small objects.
  • Use of computers, telephones, basic office equipment, power equipment, hand tools, etc.
