Job Summary:

This is a full-time position based at the Le Sueur Fertilizer Plant. Regular hours can vary, extended hours will be necessary during peak times and as business dictates. The Warehouse Attendant will load and unload product with the use of equipment, provide customer service, and inventory tracking. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties; other duties may be added as needed with business need.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Loading and unloading of product with machinery.
  • Tracking product inventory, adjusting as needed.
  • Communicate product needs to management to ensure availability.
  • Customer interaction, providing excellent customer service.
  • Identifying and resolving product issues as they arise (inventory control, safety, shipping, etc.)
  • Identifying and resolving inadequacies in processes; assist in developing ways to increase efficiency.
  • Promote safety in the workplace; identify and communicate workplace hazards promptly, correcting unsafe conditions or actions as able.
  • Maintaining high-quality product and sanitation standards; Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Set up and monitor plant and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Operate heavy machinery as needed (payloader, forklift, etc.)
  • Supervising and training seasonal employees during busy times.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Class A CDL with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain in a timely manner).
  • Previous experience with equipment (forklift, etc.) required.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous inventory experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with bulk liquid handing is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; positive attitude.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as business dictates.
  • High level of organization, efficiency, and the ability to adapt and prioritize.
  • High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); willingness to learn other systems as needed.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and ability to accept responsibility and accountability for job performance.

Physical

  • Moderate to heavy lifting is required (50-100 lbs.) daily.
  • Work conditions may include dust, fumes, moderate to loud noise levels, uneven surfaces, various heights.
  • Working near moving equipment, outside and insider, and in all- weather conditions
  • While performing the duties of the job, it is required to speak, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer, telephone, equipment, etc.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
