Job Summary:

This is a full-time position based at the Pine Island location. Regular hours can vary, extended hours will be necessary during peak times and as business dictates. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Feed Warehouse and assists in the Feed Mill and at the Counter/Scale.  This is not an all-encompassing list of duties; other duties may be added as needed with business needs.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Communicate product needs to management to ensure availability.
  • Identify and resolve inventory control issues as they arise.
  • Store, maintain, track product inventory, and request adjustments as needed.
  • Organize product movements made by deliveries, sales, & transfers.
  • Load and unload the product by hand and forklift.
  • Assist in manufacturing, bagging, and loading trucks in Animal Feed Production
  • Assist with Counter Sales & Scale Operations as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Practice continuous improvement and develop ways to increase efficiency.
  • Promote safety in the workplace; promptly identify and communicate workplace hazards, correcting unsafe conditions or actions.
  • Maintain high-quality product and sanitation standards, including a clean and organized work environment.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Complete tasks on time.

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Be versatile and able to work in a variety of settings (Warehouse, Feed Mill, Office)
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills with a positive attitude.
  • Be able to work evening and weekend hours, as business dictates.
  • Operate machinery, including a payloader, forklift, and other company vehicles.
  • Be organized, efficient, and able to adapt and prioritize.
  • Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and accept responsibility and accountability for job performance.

 Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment and inventory control is preferred but not necessary.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and the ability to be licensed as a forklift operator.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials up to 75 pounds frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to reach materials. Must be able to stand, walk short distances, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
  • Work conditions may include dust, fumes, occasionally moderate to loud noise levels, uneven surfaces, and various heights.
  • Work near moving equipment, outside and inside, and in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively while using a computer, telephone, equipment, or other items.
