Job Summary:

This is a full-time position. Your regularly scheduled hours may vary, and you will need to work extended hours including evening and weekends during peak periods and as business needs change. The purpose of this role is to collaborate with others to safely apply crop protection and nutrient products for our customers by operating different types of machinery. This job description does not cover all tasks, and you will perform other related duties as needed to meet the changing needs of our organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operate field application equipment to accurately apply crop nutrient and crop protection products for our customers. Operate the equipment’s computers and calibrate the machine as necessary to ensure precise product application. Complete application and spray records as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Drive pickups and tender trucks to deliver bulk and packaged products. Operate blending equipment to mix and load fertilizer and pesticide products.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet machinery by assisting mechanics. Contribute to cleanliness, upkeep, and overall appearance of the property.
  • Support and facilitate the AYS program growth by data collection and entry, and field-trial documentation.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and teammates to deliver excellent service. Greet and assist customers promptly and courteously.
  • Follow safety protocols, including Confined Space Entry, Lock-out-Tag-out (LOTO) and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator license.
  • A Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements, possibly including Haz Mat, air brakes, and tanker is preferred. You must have reliable transportation and maintain commercial insurability.
  • Proficient in operating field application equipment, heavy-duty trucks, blending equipment, and support equipment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Able to identify tasks that need to be completed and execute them without direct supervision.
  • Be operation oriented, efficient, and productive while keeping yourself and others safe. Work collaboratively in a team environment or independently, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting, and accept responsibility for job performance.
  • Able to read and understand safety rules, procedure manuals, and spray tickets.
  • Must be over age 18 and eligible to work in the United States, pass a DOT physical examination and required drug tests.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to perform heavy work by lifting 60 pounds frequently.
  • Able to climb ladders and work at heights, work near moving equipment that makes moderate to loud noise levels, and on uneven surfaces.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions and in dusty conditions.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull. Also speak, hear, see, and use hands to operate a computer, telephone, and equipment.
  • Meet the physical and mental demands of working long hours during the busy seasons and managing multiple tasks.
