IT Supervisor
Job Summary:
The IT Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring tasks and projects are completed accurately and on time. This role requires a proactive problem-solver, with strong technical skills, who is passionate about delivering excellent IT service while fostering a strong, collaborative team. This is a full-time, salaried position in the Goodhue office reporting to the Chief Information Officer. This list of duties is not exhaustive and will vary based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and prioritize the IT department’s workload to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Supervise two hourly staff: an IT Technician and an Information Security Technician. Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Participate with a hands-on approach in day-to-day operations including handling complex escalations, performing team members’ responsibilities in their absence or to balance workload, and provide minimal after-hours support when necessary.
- Monitor and audit IT systems and processes to identify opportunities for improving performance, reliability, security, and overall service delivery.
- Other duties as assigned to support the IT department and other business needs, including occasional local travel to other locations during the workday, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Honest, dependable, and accountable, with a strong work ethic and committed to integrity in all aspects of work and leadership.
- Education or certifications in IT, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience, including 1 + year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong observational and listening skills; effective written and verbal communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Solid understanding of information security, networking, and server administration is required.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
- Able to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Experience supporting end users in a business setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to speak, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Able to sit or stand at a desk for an extended period.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; light to moderate lifting is required.
- May require use of hand tools, working on a step ladder, and minimal climbing or working at heights, sometimes in dusty environments.
- Moderate noise levels consistent with an office setting (phones, computers, printers, conversations, etc.)
