Job Summary:
Regular hours can vary, extended hours may be necessary during peak times and as business dictates. This individual will provide excellent customer service to our customers, taking feed orders, and phone inquiries, greeting them as they enter, and retail sales. This position will include loading/unloading products of various weights into/out of customers’ vehicles and inventory management. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties; other duties may be added with business needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Answer incoming calls/greeting customers courteously and professionally.
- Assist customers with feed: ordering, loading/unloading vehicles, trailers, etc., by hand or forklift.
- Assist customers with product selection and purchasing, answering questions regarding product location, price, and use.
- Process customer payments; money handling-making change.
- Ensure store is stocked and clean; exterior and grounds are cleaned and maintained (i.e., mowing, shoveling, etc.)
- Assist with inventory counts and product orders.
- Communicate with various manufacturing locations to coordinate customers’ orders.
- Identify and resolve inadequacies in processes; assist in developing ways to increase efficiency.
- Complete tasks on time.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Able to work evening and weekend hours as needed during busy seasons, like fall harvest.
- Occasionally, complete tasks for other departments.
- Excellent verbal communication skills; friendly and outgoing personality
- High level of organization, efficiency, and the ability to adapt and prioritize.
- High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Able to work in a team or independently, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and accept responsibility and accountability for job performance.
Education and Experience:
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Experience with feed and grain is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform heavy work and lift between 50 – 100 pounds.
- While performing job duties, speaking, hearing, seeing, and using hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
- Use standard office equipment, multi-line phones, computers, printers, scanners, copiers, etc.
