Job Summary:
This position drives a bag, bulk, semi, or straight feed truck delivering feed and products to our customers. Assists in the feed mill and warehouse duties. Provides professional, quality service to customers, mix & package feed, and load & unload trucks when not delivering products. Employees must have a positive attitude, be willing to work within a team atmosphere, and be safety focused. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties, and other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Transport and unload feed and grains to customers as ordered in a safe and timely manner.
- Keep a neat and safe work environment.
- Follow company biosecurity standard operating procedures. Maintain a high standard of feed quality. Comply with safety rules, procedure manuals, and delivery tickets.
- Keep accurate records and maintain an up-to-date log of all feed deliveries.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and all DOT rules and regulations.
- Ensure accuracy in all duties performed including verifying delivery and unloading instructions.
- Extended work hours may be required and are determined by management based on business needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately.
- Must be a motivated self-starter that is willing to work as part of a team.
- Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack.
Education and Experience:
- Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement or a willingness to acquire Class A License.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations with traffic, weather conditions, etc.
- Agricultural background preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform heavy work by lifting 75 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly. Also climb ladders, work near moving equipment.
- Willing to work in elevated areas and climb ladders, grain bins, and grain legs. Work near moving equipment and in confined spaces.
- Willing to work outside during all weather conditions and in dusty conditions.
- Able to sit for a prolonged period of time, stand, walk, balance, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
- Work extra hours as need to get all feeds delivered each day as needed or required.
