This week’s corn highlight is the new Croplan 4129 PCE. This is a Powercore Enlist hybrid only. Above ground protection, no below ground traits. This hybrid will fill a big spot in the Croplan line up and give us a great option in that 101-day market.

Seed Lead

Tanner’s Top Takeaways:
→ Emergence is slightly above average. It wasn’t the first out of the ground, but in the top 3 for sure!
→ Has exceptional seedling vigor.
→ Has a very robust root system.
→ I have noticed that the leaves are wider than the other hybrids in its maturity class.
→ 4129PCE is a white cob!
→ One look-out is that it has an average drought score. I, myself would recommend keeping on some higher water holding capacity farms until we get some more data on that variable acre.
I am looking forward to seeing how 4129PCE performs in the plots this year and to getting it out in some full fields next spring. If you are looking for a product with below ground traits, give Croplan 4024SSPRO a try as well. We had it out in some fields last year and it performed very well, even with all the disease pressure! – Tanner

The crops look excellent across our area, and now that we’re wrapping up soybean resprays, it’s time to start looking ahead. With the recent heat and moisture, corn will soon be reaching the VT stage. It’s time to start thinking about fungicide applications. We want to continue maximizing this crops potential. Miravis Neo has consistently given us the best results in our AYS data for both disease control and plant health, helping protect your corn from diseases such as Tar Spot, Northern Corn Leaf Blight, and several other foliar diseases. Applying fungicide at a timely matter can help preserve its plant health and protect the yield potential for the remainder of the season. If you have any questions about fungicide timing, products, or application recommendations, please do not hesitate to contact your Ag Partners agronomist or your AYS Specialist. – Kati

It’s hard to believe it is July already and that means fungicide season is right around the corner. Much of the corn in the area looks great and we would expect tassels to start to come out in the next 10-14 days. Tassel fungicide is a great tool to help protect the yield we’ve built so far, especially with the increased disease pressure in the last few years. Disease management is one of fundamental layers of our high yield pyramid.
Some benefits of a fungicide application include:
- Protection against foliar pathogens
- Increased late season plant health which leads to better grain fill
- Increased stalk integrity which aids in harvestability
Our 2025 AYS data showed that fields with a fungicide treatment were about 3 times more likely to reach the next yield tier of 240+ bu/a. If you haven’t already, contact your Ag Partners agronomist or AYS Specialist to discuss VT fungicide and to confirm your fungicide plan to help ensure a timely application. – Tanner

As I sit here this morning writing this, it is currently a bit stormy. We have had fairly timely rains and are sitting ok at the moment on moisture. There is another predicted 1-2 inches of rain on the way before Saturday the 4th,
With an average high temperature of 82 degrees for this time of the year, we have been a good 10 degrees above average the past few days. It looks like after this weather system moves through, temperatures will be moderate to normal for the next 15 days.
This type of weather creates an environment that is very favorable for plant disease development. With that being said, this will lead us to fungicide applications in the next 10-12 days. Be sure to contact your Ag Partners Agronomist to set up your fungicide application. to protect the excellent crop we have growing. Have a good summer and enjoy the 4th of July. – Bill

The Battle of the Waterhemp continues. Weather conditions are looking better this week for controlling Waterhemp compared to the last previous cool and dry weeks. Although most post applications are completed. Field scouting continue to show that Enlist and Roundup provides only fair suppression of waterhemp, with many plants surviving and regrowing. In comparison, Liberty Ultra and Enlist delivers more consistent control, causing greater plant injury and significantly reducing escapes. When conditions are favorable, Liberty remains an important tank mix partner for improving postemergence waterhemp control. – Jake
