Job Overview
This is a full-time position based at the Le Sueur location. Regular hours are 8am-5pm (or similar) during the slow season, extended hours may be necessary during peak times and as business dictates. This individual will oversee shop employees- scheduling, assigning daily tasks, providing feedback, coordinating maintenance and repairs to a variety of equipment. This is not an all-encompassing list of duties; other duties may be added as needed with business need.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Providing maintenance (scheduled and emergency) to a variety of equipment. This includes LP and Fuel Trucks, Feed Trucks, Semis- Tractors and Trailers, Agricultural Equipment, etc.
- Set up and monitor plant and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Respond to, assess, and diagnose equipment breakdowns, contacting service technicians as needed.
- Maintain inventory records on repairs made and parts ordered; maintain and order parts as needed.
- Oversee shop employees, assigning daily tasks, developing schedules, following up on tasks.
- Assessing the work performance of employees, identifying area needing improvement.
- Identifying and resolving inadequacies in processes; assist in developing ways to increase efficiency.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with management, department leads, operators, dealerships, and service technicians, etc.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Promote safety in the workplace; identify and communicate workplace hazards promptly, correcting unsafe conditions or actions as able.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong mechanical ability; able to perform and diagnose basic mechanical repairs and maintenance.
- Knowledge and/or experience with trucks (diesel and gas) and heave agricultural equipment; operation and repairs.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Excellent leadership skills; positive attitude.
- High level of organization, efficiency, and the ability to adapt and prioritize.
- High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work in a team or independently, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and ability to accept responsibility and accountability for job performance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to create and develop effective working relationships with employees, team player.
- Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to do what is needed to complete tasks.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekend during the busy season and as business dictates.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Physical
- Moderate to heavy lifting {50-100lbs)
- Work conditions may include dust, fumes, moderate to loud noise levels, uneven surfaces, various heights.
