CORN CONDITIONS SHOW IMPROVEMENT

NASS weekly crop progress and condition report show national corn conditions improved slightly in the past week.  Conditions stabilized in the central/eastern areas that dropped drastically in the past report.  The rains have been mostly absent there in the past seven days and the forecast is favorable also.  Corn condition scores improved to 69% good-excellent vs. 68% last week and 75% last year.

Soybean planting is 96% complete vs. 100% last year and on average.  Missouri remains well behind at 73% planted.

Like corn conditions, soybean conditions stabilized this week and were reported 63% good-excellent vs. 63% last week and 72% last year.  Some in the trade were expecting to see more deterioration in this week’s report.
