June rainfall totals broke all-time records in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio dating back 121 years. The excess moisture continues to take its toll on the crop conditions in those states. However, conditions have continued to improve in western belt states to offset some of the problem areas. NASS reported overall national corn condition scores steady this week at 69% good-excellent vs. 69% last week and 76% last year.
Soybean conditions showed a similar pattern east vs. west with the national ratings declining to 62% good-excellent vs. 63% last week and 72% last year.
