Both Minnesota and Wisconsin are ahead of average and last year’s pace. Soybean planting is 52% complete vs. 61% last year and 49% on average.

May 5th Crop Progress Report
After a year where many areas experienced drought, rains have been welcomed this spring. However, it may have been a little too much of a good thing recently as corn and soybean planting progress slowed last week. NASS reported corn planting is 36% complete nationally vs. 42% last year and 39% on average. Soybean planting is 25% complete vs. 30% last year and 21% on average.
